Golden Emu Oil

noneEmu Oil is a natural remedy from Australia that has been used in Aboriginal medicine for centuries. It is used as a muscle, joint, and skin rub being both soothing for the body and moisturising for the skin.

Emu oil made the headlines in the UK after Paula Radcliffe claimed it helped her get over injuries she had obtained prior to her record breaking run in the 2003 Flora London Marathon. Furthermore celebrities such as Demi Moore, Goldie Hawn and Melanie Griffith all supposedly swear by emu oil's anti-aging properties and it is held in high regards by beauty therapists all over the world.

Now its claimed healing properties have been backed up by scientific studies, published in leading journals, which confirm that the oil acts as an anti-inflammatory and also has cell regenerating properties.

Emu oil is also proven to aid in the regeneration of skin, and so a daily application of a moisturiser or hand and body lotion containing Golden Emu Oil will soothe and revitalise any dry and chapped areas. Emu oil is packed full of essential fatty acids (Omegas 3 and 6) and is also high in Omega 9 (offered referred to as the third essential fatty acid). These Omegas are vital for healthy skin and act as nutrients to keep it in peak condition

Emu oil can now be found in numerous leading muscle, joint, and skin products. Golden Emu Oil is Europe's leading emu oil and is of the highest pharmaceutical quality.

Emu oil and arthritis

Emu oil is a 100% natural remedy that has been used in Aboriginal medicine for centuries. The oil has now become famous around the Globe for its powerful soothing properties and its reputation as one of the most effective natural remedies available is growing quickly. Research has now led to the oil becoming a registered pharmaceutical product in Australia, which is used primarily as an anti-inflammatory for those with muscle and joint problems.

Now registered as a therapeutic anti-inflammatory in Australia, there have been numerous published studies that have looked at emu oil's ability to reduce inflammation and swelling 1,2,3,4 with several of these focussing specifically on arthritis models. The results are very positive with all studies showing an overall significant reduction in swelling on application of emu oil, when compared to controls. Some of the results showed emu oil application being as effective, and in some cases even more so, than commonly prescribed drugs.

A recent study completed at Victoria University 5 focussed on emu oil use, by those suffering from osteoarthritis in their hands, both topical application and dietary use. The study involved 120 volunteers in an eight week, double blinded, placebo controlled trial. The trial was split into three groups, a group applying the oil topically (A), a group ingesting the oil (B), and a group both applying the oil topically and ingesting it(C).

Pain recordings were measured on a visual analogue scale and all three groups showed significant reductions in their pain scores, with group A seen to have the biggest reduction in pain when compared to the placebo group. Furthermore a perceived pain relief questionnaire was undertaken, with 69% of emu oil users reporting relief through the use of emu oil during the trial and with the perception of pain relief from emu oil users being 2.34 times greater than that of those on the placebo.

There is much excitement about emu oil's potential to help those with arthritis, especially with continued concerns about the side-effects reported with some drugs prescribed to those suffering from the condition. No side-effects have been reported with emu oil.

The UK's leading brand of emu oil is Golden Emu Oil and published studies have shown it is the most effective emu oil available and you don't have to be a world class athlete to benefit from this natural remedy. The oil is available directly from the Pioneer Trading Company by calling them on 01526 344971 or visiting their website at www.pion-tc.co.uk. It is also available from independent health stores and pharmacists and prices start at just £5.95 for 30ml.
