Ever wondered which saint day kicks all the other ones into touch? It's St Patrick's Day of course - and it's the one saint day that is celebrated globally- giving Irish citizens the world over the chance to celebrate their homeland and traditions.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 17 March, London will go green, when the London Eye celebrates St Patrick's Day. Other global landmarks that will turn emerald are: The Empire State Building, Sydney Opera House, Munich Victory Gate and the CN Tower.

Minister of State at The Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, John Curran commented "We're thrilled that The London Eye is going green this year and that London is having a full on celebration. It obviously shows how the city - and indeed the world holds the island of Ireland so close to its heart. We look forward to some great celebrations and wish everyone a truly spectacular St Patrick's Day and suggest that they visit the Island of Ireland to get a slice of the good life!"
