TalkSPORT issue no 3 out today
SHOWBIZ SWINGERS REVEAL ALL - ONLY IN talkSPORT MAGAZINE OUT TODAY!
talkSPORT Magazine, the free weekly digital magazine from talkSPORT, the UK's only national commercial speech radio station, has quizzed the keen golfers from the world of sport and showbiz for their tips on the 137th Open Championship.
In issue 3, out Thursday 17th July, 'Enigma' star Dougray Scott is puzzled why punters would back anyone but Sergio Garcia, Boyzone's Ronan Keating sings the praises of Lee Westwood; and model Jodie Kidd has her eye on more than one man.
Prior to teeing off at a charity event in aid of leuka.org.uk, talkSPORT Magazine asked Hollywood actor Dougray Scott who he thought would be lifting the famous claret jug. "Sergio [Garcia] or Adam Scott have got to win a major at some point," said Scott."It just seems crazy for them not to have done so already. Sergio is a great striker of the ball. But who knows? It's the Open so anything can happen."
However Ronan Keating was sure of who he thought would win: "Lee Westwood is hitting the ball extremely well at the moment and he's due a big win, definitely due a major. I'd love to see Lee win it."
'Ashes to Ashes' and 'Life on Mars' star Philip Glenister was with Keating. "I think Lee Westwood is a very good bet," he said.
Former Italy and Chelsea striker Gianluca Vialli tipped two outsiders. "Ross Fisher is playing very well at the moment or [Nick] Dougherty," said Vialli. "I don't care as long as he's British, or Italian of course! Though I don't think we [the Italians] have a chance."
Model Jodie Kidd added: "I'd love Westie to do well. Failing that, any of the English guys."
"Everyone seems to be up for the Open this year," said Editor Bill Borrows. "Perhaps it's because we have been deprived of international football over the summer or maybe it's because Tiger Woods is not playing and it could be time for a Brit to win the Claret Jug. Let's hope so."
